Hello, and welcome to the journal. We make custom songs about real people, funny on the surface and warm all the way through, and it turns out we have a lot of thoughts about why that works. This is where they'll live.
Why bother writing things down?
Because the best gifts aren't expensive, they're specific. Anyone can buy a mug with a name on it. A song knows the daft nickname, the running joke, the thing they did in 2014 that the family still won't let go of. We think a lot about that gap, the one between a gift that's nice and a gift that knocks the wind out of someone, and we wanted somewhere to think out loud.
The best ones are quietly both: funny enough to play at the party, true enough to make someone go quiet at the end.
